We organize multiple events every year from seminars and lectures to visits to companies and local recreational sites - usually accompanied by refreshments!

Recent events included -

Feb 1: Seminar talk by Dr Sponsler

Aug. 18th, 2017: Industry tour to PPG

Aug. 6~10th, 2017: SPIE Optics + Photonics conference

Apr. 19th, 2017: SPIE 2017 officer elections were conducted introducing four new positions in order to expand outreach and publicity of the chapter along with presentation of the annual report by the outgoing President of the chapter.

Spring 2018: This year we are going to hold a series of seminar talks to further promote our communications/collaborations between different optics research groups, and hopefully to increase the impact of OSA/SPIE organizations by advertising our chapter and our events within the university. The speakers will be invited from multiple disciplines.

Spring 2017: We setup an optics exibition as a part of the Exploration-U initiative at Mt. Nitanny Middle school. We had an amazing turnout from the State College community - we had 346 kids and 255 adults attend! This was an SPIE Outreach Initiative.
